Eating disorders are the abnormal pattern of eating and exercising in a person, which makes severe impacts in daily life. In this disorder, the person feels extra conscious about his health and feels worried about his weight and appearance which leads to dangerous eating habits. The most common eating disorders are anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. It can happen equally to both males and females of any age.
There can be both biological and genetics, social, physical and psychological causes which can make the person feel eating disorder, which forces a person to appear according to the expectations which he or she made up in their mind but doing it in an uncontrolled way can lead to dangerous health consequences.
Though, these are some common causes of eating disorder: –
- Feeling inferior and uncomfortable with the appearance.
- Getting influenced by the western culture in which thin body shape is considered ideal.
- Getting mocked by friends due to weight.
- Getting influenced by some person.
- Being impulsive
- Physical or sexual abuse.
With proper Psychological guidance and treatment, a person can be treated and can get back to normal life with a feeling of acceptance with himself and will to move ahead in life.
